Who would you be if you forgot who you were and what you liked? If you were open to life’s adventures? In a (hopefully soon) Post Covid world, how might you be more Roberta?

I was a huge Madonna fan as a kid. I was too young to understand Desperately Seeking Susan when I first saw it back then but enjoyed watching it again over Christmas last year.

And some questions have stayed with me so I thought I’d share some of them in case they help you get to know yourself better…

First of all — not a journal prompt but curious — did ‘Susan’s’ style influence ’80s Madonna or did the costume designer take Real Madonna as inspiration for ‘Susan’?

Almost every time Roberta (Rosanna Arquette’s unhappily married character who was obsessed with the mysterious Susan and, after a bump on the head, has no idea who she is) is asked something, however outlandish, she pauses, widens her eyes and says, ‘I don’t know — Maybe?’

Journal prompts

Who are YOU?

What do you like?

What do you dislike?

What do you love?

What do you hate?

What do you believe?

Who do you trust?

Who don’t you trust?

What energises you?

What drains you?

What do you WANT?

I can’t guarantee anyone will end up with Aidan Quinn BUT you will get to know YOURSELF better if you allow this transitional time to be an opportunity for you to try new things, revisit old things and do as much of what feels good as possible.

Are you ready to get curious about who you are?

Feel free to email eve@selfcarecoaching.net to let me know.

And please feel free to share this post on your social media etc so others who may find it helpful can read it.
